
Congress has appropriated $130 million to supplement and expand emergency food and shelter programs in the United States.
Pennington County, South Dakota has received a grant for $30,886 of those monies. Nonprofit organizations can apply for a portion of the grant money received by Pennington County, South Dakota from the federal government under Phase 40 FY 2022 of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, according to United Way of the Black Hills.

Past recipients of the funding include Church Response, MEALS Program, Club for Boys of RC, Feeding SD, WAVI, BH Works, Cornerstone Rescue Mission, and Youth and Family Services.
