United Way still short of fundraising goal. December 28, 2012
Members of the United Way of the Black Hills have only two business days left to raise a little more than $77,000. This year, the organization has raised about $2.2 million during its annual fundraising campaign but that only puts them at 97 percent of their goal,
and there's only two days left in the year to raise the extra cash. The area coordinator of the organization says $77,000 is a lot to raise in those two days but they're hoping the money will come through for the 52 non-profits that the United Way assists. Area Coordinator Tyler Wulf says, "It's very important because we don't want to make cuts to our agencies. They rely on us, you know. They're seeing cuts all the time. We don't want to be one of those, so we're going to continue to provide for them and hopefully, you know, get them everything that they need." Wulf says volunteers are working hard to give that final push to hopefully raise their goal of almost $2.3 million by the end of the month.
