United Way still struggling to meet 2012 goal. December 28, 2012
With only a few days left to go, the 2012 United Way campaign is still more than $70,000 away from meeting this year's goal.
In Rapid City $72,000 is needed and in the northern hills it will take $5,400 more to meet the campaign goal.
52 organizations in the Black Hills depend on United Way's support to run. A cut in funding would come as a big blow, especially to non-profit organizations that are already stretched thin. "You know the agencies are seeing cuts everywhere so we're hoping to not be that for them this year," United Way Area Coordinator Tyler Wulf said.
The United Way set its goal for this year in line with what was raised last year, which was $2,295,000.
If you are able to give, you have until December 31st to do so.
