Executive Director's Message
Thank you to everyone who has helped make my move to the Black Hills a wonderful experience. I look forward to the next year, where I will work to ensure that the United Way of the Black Hills continues to meet our mission of helping solve community issues through investments in nonprofits throughout our service area which includes Rapid City, Belle Fourche, Custer, Deadwood, Edgemont, Hill City, Hot Springs, Keystone, Lead, Spearfish, and Sturgis.
In 2016, our goal is to raise $2.352 Million. These dollars will be invested in 55 nonprofit agencies throughout the Black Hills who are meeting the needs of the community. These agencies are helping to solve key issues impacting our family, friends, and neighbors helping to ensure educational success for our children, financial stability for our families, and access to food, shelter, and emergency assistance to help move families through crisis.
Every year, each of the four regions that we serve identify their portion of the overall goal that they help raise and distribute to nonprofits in their community. I am proud to say that every region either met ot exceeded their goal last year! The totals can be seen in the table below.

| Rapid City
This success is only accomplished thanks to the hard work and dedication of our board members, volunteers, and through the generosity of our community. A special thanks goes out to each board president and their respective campaign chairs including Pauline Sumption and Mike Oster of Rapid City, Melissa Barth and the board members of the Northern Hills, Brad Keizer and Monnie Karim of the Southern Hills, and Dean Sigman and Pat Kurtenbach of Sturgis.
I have spent much of my time thus far getting to know our agencies, donors, and the communities we serve. I can honestly say that this is the most caring, generous group of people that I have ever had the privilege to work with in my entire career. Thank you all!
